Interviewed by FOX WFXG 54 in Augusta, Georgia, Angela discusses her Physician’s Power To Protect course in relation to the Best Picture, Oscar-winning film, Spotlight. The film follows The Boston Globe's Spotlight team, the oldest continuously operating newspaper investigative journalist unit in the United States, and its investigation into cases of widespread and systemic child sex abuse in the Boston area by numerous Catholic priests.

Report: A lot of people are still buzzing about the Oscars from last night, and one Georgia woman is hoping one of the night's biggest winners will help bring awareness to her cause. Spotlight, the winner for best picture, tells the story of a group of journalists who investigate allegations against priests in Boston accused of molesting children.

Here in Georgia, one woman has made it her mission to educate physicians on the signs of child sexual abuse. She just wrapped up a five-week course with Augusta University medical students and says classes like this are essential to stopping the cycle of child sexual abuse.

Angela Williams: Not only is it their moral and their legal obligation, but they're going to be civilly liable if they don't stand up and protect a child. If they do suspect and they don't report, then they're just a part of the problem and they're not a part of the solution.

Reporter: Williams says this was the first semester for the course, and she hopes the class becomes part of the curriculum here and at other medical schools.
